What's A Wills?

You’re set on a marquee for your outdoor celebration and you love the look and feel of what we do. Now you’re wondering what sets our luxury canvas and timber pole tents apart from the rest.

Well, let’s take a look…

Firstly, our sensational tents are handcrafted here, in Britain by Wills Marquees. A contemporary take on a traditional Victorian design, Wills craftsmen use timeless techniques handed down by generations of sail-makers, carpenters and engineers to provide our marquees with an everlasting quality that comes from a long heritage of bespoke tent making.

Meticulously designed and handstitched in a studio in the heart of Yorkshire, Wills take great care in their approach to manufacture. Carefully selected sustainable UK sourced timber is hand turned by skilled carpenters while cotton rich canvas is measured, cut and sewn by trained seamstresses.

The greatest advantage - and what sets our marquees aside – is that every dedicated maker has years of rigging experience. This hands-on practice has enabled the innovative development of each design from the original 7m span tents to the more recent and impressive 12m span marquees.

There are some things modern technology simply can’t replicate and we believe the beauty of a traditional pole tent should remain true to form.

We use rope throughout our structures, to complement the canvas, exposed wood and overall vintage feel and our guys are tensioned using beech timber sliders. The iconic ropework that features on each king pole, not only adds a stylish finish but they’re also a nod to an age-old sailor technique.

These charming details and finishing touches certainly set us aside from others and we can’t forget to mention our hand turned timber finials that top each side pole and handstitched white flags that crown the king poles signify that it’s time to celebrate!

As part of the Wills Marquees family, we really do offer a celebration space like no other.  Made from natural canvas, the signature swooped roof lines extend the elevation of the canopy and create a bright, light and airy interior, supported by exposed timber king poles. The Wills open plan design offers complete creative freedom and versatility with your layout options so you really can tailor your event to you!

Neutral in colour with subtle wooden accents, our tents offer more than just a blank canvas for your occasion. Keep the styling simple with sparkling fairy lights and pops of greenery or add colour from the canopy with suspended props and décor.

It’s clear that our stunning canvas and timber pole marquees are a timeless classic. With an everlasting, British design and a stunning silhouette, our luxury Wills Marquees tents will now and always bring that WOW factor to any party!
