All In The Detail
It’s A Wills
We’re proud to say that our luxury canvas and timber pole tents are handcrafted in Britain by Wills Marquees. A contemporary take on a traditional Victorian design, Wills craftsmen use timeless techniques handed down by generations of sailmakers, carpenters and engineers to provide our marquees with a timeless quality that comes from a long heritage of bespoke tent making.
With the development in technology, materials and structural engineering, their manufacture ensures that our structures are at the forefront in tensile design and the reason why the Wills Marquees traditional canvas and timber pole tent is a truly unique product.
Fine British Marquees
Meticulously designed and handstitched in a studio in the heart of Yorkshire, Wills take great care in their approach to manufacture. Carefully selected sustainable UK sourced timber is hand turned by skilled carpenters while cotton rich canvas is measured, cut and sewn by trained seamstresses.
In addition to wind loading analysis by structural engineers to BS EN13782, all our marquees have been ‘real world’ tested by us in all-weather conditions. All fabrics used, comply with BS 7837 for fire retardancy, rot proofing, water repellence and tensile strength.
With a Wills Marquee, quality really is never compromised.
Finishing Touches
There are some things modern technology simply can’t replicate and we believe the beauty of a traditional pole tent should remain true to form.
We use rope throughout our structures, to complement the natural canvas and exposed wood perfectly and our guys are tensioned using beech timber sliders. The iconic ‘Turks Head’ knots that feature on each king pole, not only add a stylish finish but are also a nod to an age-old sailor technique.
Finishing touches like our hand turned timber finials top each side pole and our handstitched white flags crown the elevated king poles.
